My back is hot. Or maybe it's cold. I sure wish I could tell. Truth is, my lower back is hurting so badly, the muscles are so tight, that I've resorted to the Herbal Muscle Massage Crème for relief. I'd rather try that first before pain medication. I can't decide if it is making me feel heat or cold! Quite the guessing game! A good dose of acupuncture would help, I'm sure.
Speaking of acupuncture, can you believe that my mom suggested acupuncture for our dog? She cracks me up. Mom, that is! If you remember, Goldie had surgery on her ACL last summer and although she healed fairly nicely, she just hasn't been the same. In the last couple of months, she hasn't even been using her leg at all, being content to hobble along on the three good ones. So Mom sends me an article on pet acupuncture with a note, "Do you think this will help Goldie?" My response was, "Yes, I do, in fact. However, the humans –AKA as ME!—are getting it first!" Mom understood.
Have you wondered why I haven't mentioned the exercise program that I said I started a couple of weeks ago? That's OK if you haven't! I've been dutifully working out every day except a couple and it's still bootin' my patoot! I'm not nearly as sore as those first 2-3 days and in fact, am feeling much stronger. The scales and the tape measure don't show any degree of change, doggone.it.all, but the way I feel has improved. Hopefully, the other will follow. When you've lived your entire life as one of the smallest people you know, then you aren't any more … well, you want to reverse things. At least, I'm working hard and getting healthy again.
Something else that you might think I've dropped by the wayside is the Project 365. Remember that? I was going to take a photo a day (which I still pretty much do). I also wanted to document all those photos in a couple of layouts per week and so I started calling it Project 52 (weeks in a year). Well … if you thought I had dropped this by the wayside, you would be right. I wish I was like Anke and could churn out tons at a time!! (You really MUST click through and see all those layouts!) I finally decided that the layouts I was doing just trying to document a week in my life was not the type of layout I wanted to spend my time making when there were so many others begging for my attention. I've done some of those, but certainly not one a week. I'm working on a better workflow!
I'm at the end of the first day of a very busy week. As the Special Events Coordinator at our school, I'm responsible to make sure all the events come off successfully and that's exactly what I intend to do this week. We have the Seniors' Tea (a Mom and Me event) and it will bridge two days. Tomorrow will be spent transforming a gym into a Tea Room … quite a task, I assure you. I'll try to get some photos. Thankfully, I have several Mom Volunteers. They are the best! The Teas are Wednesday and Thursday. Then on the weekend is the Junior-Senior Banquet. That one is quite a bit easier for me since it is largely student-planned and executed. Most of the work that I do on that one is already done.
Lesson of the Day: Don't pick up a hungry 8th grade daughter from school and take her with you on a trip to Costco! You'll find the oddest foodstuffs in your cart … Just sayin'.
