Aly plays an elderly woman to the "T" and puts on a Southern accent to rival any authentic one. Of course, she has always had plenty of Southern accents to listen to in her extended family! We have one more weekend of shows ... I can't wait to see how the performance evolves through that many showings. The cast and crew have worked so hard and continue to put their best out every time!
Inspired and motivated by Mama Trudy's resourceful and creativity, I started a quilt on Friday. I've meant for years to use Ben's old baseball t-shirts from tournaments and teams for a quilt top and I guess I finally got tired of them laying in the laundry room floor. They are now cut into squares and the border strips are almost all cut, too. When it's finished, I'll post the process.
Wedding prep means that we occasionally get to share beautiful cups of coffee while planning the details ...
I'd welcome more of those any day!
Happy birthday to my sweet niece today ...
One of my favorite memories of her (and their whole family!) happened this last week. My brother's step-son was ill the day we arrived and while they were at the doctor's, Jak asked my brother if he could sleep with his mom that night. Of course, my brother said, "Sure you can ... we'll put you right in the middle." Jak was immediately concerned that Alex would feel lonely (SO sweet, too, right?!) and suggested Timmy sleep in her room. My brother was telling Alex this while we were at dinner with them and she said, "No, Dad, you don't have to sleep in my room ... I have Emily tonight!" Such sweet cuddlebugs.
The boxes I shipped from Mama Trudy's should arrive at my home today. It'll be a bit like Christmas to open those treasures and give them a new niche in our lives.
Here's to a week of memories and loving each other.
