I love blue canning jars, especially with the wire clamps, and I love anything "mini". When I saw four of these half-pint bicentennial blue Ball jars at the thrift store, I couldn't leave them sitting there. The pint and quart sizes are easier to find than the half-pint size and they are cuter than buttons.
However, as you can see on the jar on the right, the wire clamps were corroded and rusty. I wasn't sure how to clean them, but I used a bit of ingenuity that sometimes comes to me and found a fine grit sandpaper in Ken's workbench. I sanded them, then put some oil on a paper towel and wiped them.
Lovely and ready to use!
If any of you have other ideas on how to clean the wire clamps, let me know!
